Yandina—Coolum Road, South Coolum Road and School Road, upgrade roundabout

Design has been completed to replace the roundabout with a signalised intersection.

The project will reduce congestion and traffic queueing near the intersection. The project will also improve safety for pedestrians and all road users.

  • New concrete footpath to connect the Barns Lane school bus drop-off zone to School Road.
  • New dedicated left and right-turn lanes into School Road from Yandina—Coolum Road.
  • New dedicated right-turn lane into South Coolum Road from Yandina—Coolum Road.
  • Road pavement widening to incorporate the above traffic modifications.
  • Active transport improvements including on-road bike lanes
  • Updating signage and linemarking.

Current status

Design is complete. The department’s tender process will commence in early 2024. Key stakeholders and the community will be updated once the tender process is complete, and construction timeframes are confirmed.
