- The plan involves adding an additional northbound and southbound lane in this section of the Bruce Highway. These new lanes will replace existing median, likely expanding the capacity of this segment to accommodate increased traffic.
- Bruce Highway from Uhlmann Road to Caboolture-Bribie Island Road:
- Options are being investigated to either add an additional northbound and southbound lane or one-way, two-lane Collector-Distributor (CD) roads on both sides of the existing Bruce Highway.
- Active transport options are planned for pedestrian and bicycle rider facilities on the western side of the highway between Anzac Avenue and Caboolture-Bribie Island Road along with improved east-west facilities to better connect communities.

Funding
The Australian and Queensland governments have committed $34 million to develop 3 detailed business cases for planning for the upgrades to the Bruce Highway between Anzac Avenue and Caboolture–Bribie Island Road:
Bruce Highway Upgrade – Anzac Avenue to Uhlmann Road
In addition to the business case funding, the Australian and Queensland governments have also committed $733 million towards progressing upgrades to the Anzac Avenue to Uhlmann Road section. Design and construction activities will follow in subsequent years, subject to total funding requirements being confirmed. Investment ID 2349359.

Current status

Caboolture-Bribie Island Road Interchange upgrade
The upgrade will replace the existing overpass bridge with two overpasses with the additional traffic lanes plus new signalised ramp intersections to improve traffic flow efficiency, and a new loop to provide better flow for traffic travelling from Caboolture towards Brisbane. The upgrade will include significantly improved active transport connections across and new active transport facilities along the Bruce Highway.
Buchanan Road interchange upgrade
The upgrade will replace the existing overpass bridge with a new overpass. The existing roundabout ramp intersections will be upgraded to new signalised intersections to better control traffic flow and provide capacity where it is most needed. The upgrade will include significantly improved active transport connections across and new active transport facilities along the Bruce Highway.
Uhlmann Road interchange upgrade
The upgrade will replace the existing two-lane overpass bridge with a new overpass. Additional lanes will be provided at the signalised ramp intersections to improved active transport connections across and new active transport facilities along the Bruce Highway.
